In the studio soon......

Hi friends.....

Yes, it's been a very long time since I blogged (blame Facebook and having too much fun on the X Factor tour for that....LOL).

Anyway, I'm hoping to get into the studio very soon to start recording new original tracks for my album, which will hopefully be available towards the end of the year.

I will keep you all posted with progress. Remember, you can contact me on this site, or on Facebook, My Space and through Twitter.

Have fun, peeps.....

Speak soon

Over Half Way There..............

Hi all. This is really a very short piece on my adventures so far......

It's been 3 weeks since I left Cornwall for Bonny Scotland, and since that time, I've travelled around 2000 miles, sung in front of about 180000 people, eaten Heaven knows how many lovely meals and drunk a few beers, etc..  I haven't got to bed earlier than 1:45 am, and I've made some really good friends in my fellow tour colleagues, including all the backstage guys and girls. I hang out a fair bit with Daniel Evans, get lots of friendly hugs with Rachel Hylton, chat about rock music with Ruth and play footy with Ant and Seb, JLS and Eoghan in the dressing rooms (We nearly hit a tv at the O2 Arena....ooops!!!). Oh, and I've been trekking the streets of Liverpool and Brighton with Diana and Laura in search of chip butties and Big Macs!!!

We generally have to be up and out of the hotel early most days, although when we have more than one date at a venue, it's more relaxed. The travel gets very tedious at times, so it's usually out with the iPod (Thanks Claire!) or read a paper, or simply snooze (or try to!!). We did travel overnight to London after the Manchester gigs, which threw us out a bit and having already done 3 gigs in 2 days in Mancs, we then had to do 2 gigs at Wembley the very next day....

The good thing was that we had a day off afterwards to recharge a little.

Everybody gets on well with each other and we've had a great tour so far with superb audiences almost everywhere. Ant, Seb, Alan (the Michael Jackson guy) and I love to go outside the venues when the main stars are finishing their last song, and sign as many autographs as possible before the crowds go wild for the really "famous" people. I did find it funny when one 17 year old Aberdeen girl shouted "I love you, Phill..." only to be followed by "I wish you were my dad!!!"  LOL  :-)

I have many stories to tell, but I won't bore you much longer.

However, a strange thing that happened last week was turning a corner backstage at the O2 Arena only to come face to face with Michael Jackson and about 7 bodyguards. I was with Suleman Mirza who is the excellent MJ dancer from Signature (Britain's Got Talent runners-up), and he couldn't contain himself, chatting eagerly with Michael before asking for a photograph with us. I shook MJ's hand and said "Pleased to meet you Michael..." to which he replied "Likewise..." A bodyguard took the photo with Suleman's camera phone, but lo and behold, when we looked at the picture, the guard had covered the lens with his finger.....Was it on purpose??? We'll never know..... Anyway, it was too late by the time we found out, because MJ had left the building. We're off to London again tomorrow for a day off, and and are then going up to Birmingham and Glasgow. It seems like ages since I was home, but being busy and having fun doing what I love to do, albeit for a minute on stage, has helped to focus me a little more and stop me from being too homesick. This is a fantastic time for me, and I have to make the most of it.

Thanks for all the messages of support I keep getting. It really does help me along.

Well, that's all for now. I'll try and keep more stories logged for next time.

Bye Bye!!

The tour so far....

Aberdeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable!!!

What an amazing experience so far!!!!

Being on this tour is a real privilege.....I am only on stage for about a minute or so, and as any performer will tell you, when you are enjoying it, you want it to carry on forever!!!!!!!!!!

However, I am honoured to be in the company of some top quality performers, both singers and dancers.....and the best thing is, we all get on together...there are no big egos, there's loads of banter and we are one big happy team.....It's cool as........

If anyone reading was at Aberdeen, then I hope you enjoyed the show.

Anyone who hasn't seen us yet.....I'm not going to spoil the surprises.......

What a fantastic time to remember for the rest of my life.......

:-)

Getting nervous.....................

Hi everyone.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

I did. I went tobogganing with my 4 lovely kids and girlfriend Claire.

Not on snow, though....

It was a stainless steel slalom run in Plymouth.....Great fun, but not quite the same as snow!!!!

Then we ended up at an all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant for my son Alastair's birthday tea.....YUM YUM......

It was the last time I will see them all together in the next few weeks......

:-(

Unless they make it to one of the X Factor shows in Cardiff.........

Alastair has also gone on tour, but for a different reason. He plays for a football academy called Elite based in Saltash, Cornwall. His team plays academy sides from professional clubs, etc., and this week they will be facing Darlington FC, Hartlepool FC and the mighty Sunderland FC youth academies.

He's done pretty good so far. He nearly scored the winner against Fulham in December, but their keeper pulled off a fantastic save to deny him, and the score remained 0-0.

Anyway, good luck to him and the rest of the Elite squad. They're a great bunch of lads who deserve a shot at the big time because they work incredibly hard.

Well, I'd better go and get ready for tomorrow. I'm off to London in the morning to rehearse for the tour......Getting a bit nervous now........gulp!!!

Catch up with you all later.

Bye for now.

First Blog Ever.........

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend.

Well, I can't honestly believe what's happening to me.....

It's a dream come true.

In a week's time, I will have finished rehearsing for the first gig of the X Factor Live 09 Tour in Aberdeen!!!

I don't know who was responsible for the decision to put me on the tour, but whoever you are, thanks a million.

I have many people to thank in my life for their support over the years, namely Claire, all my family, my friends, work colleagues and all my fans (Yes, I know it's amazing......I have fans!!!).

My one big test over this time is going to be whether I can survive 5-6 weeks of not seeing my kids ( I have 2 fantastic teenage lads and 2 beautiful girls under 10)....... I've never been away from them for more than a week.

This is my last weekend with them so we're making it a special one, as my youngest son Alastair turns 15 while I'm on tour....

My little princesses are in bed now (They only stay with us every other weekend - I'm divorced) and will be wanting their brekkie early in the morning, so I'd better get some sleep whilst I can......LOL

Thank you for taking the time to log on and read this blog, and for any support you may give me....

All the best....
