2010

On Sat March 27th, I played a lead part in a one act play entitled "The Blind", which was perfomed at the All England One-Act Play Festival in St Austell. Competition was high, but our theatre group came 3rd, just 1 point behind the 2nd place group, and 4 points behind the winners, who scored 79 points in total. An exceptional performance considering we had only started rehearsing 8 weeks prior to the festival. Our director, Oksana Wroath, won the Best Director Award, and two of our actors (Jo Taskis and Brandon Gale) were nominated for Best Actress and Best Actor respectively. Well done to all concerned.

Charity Gig in aid of Phillipine Tsunami Victims.

I was very happy to appear as MC and perform at Bude Parkhouse Centre on Friday 16th January for this worthy cause.

In addition to myself, the following bands performed:

1) Time of Our Lives: A 5-piece rock band, who kicked the evening off to a cracking start. Check out their Facebook fanpage and catch them in the N. Cornwall/Devon area soon.

2) The Timewasters: 3 youngsters, between the ages of 13 and 15, who rocked hard all the time they were on stage. Once again, keep a watchful eye open for local gigs.

3) Crowns (formerly "Flick"): Awesome folk rock with a twist, and as tight as a duck's bottom!!! More info on them below:

This was a fantastic opportunity to see some new local talent, and catch up on seeing headline act, "Crowns" who are now based in London, having supported Pete Docherty's "Babyshambles" 3 times in Jan of this year. Word on the street is that Universal Records are interested in signing these lads. Good luck to them, I say!!!! The night was a success, and as  Tsunami victims are still suffering long after the tragedy, this will be a much needed input to the charity.
